This week was very special. I learned A LOT about myself and about my mission and about everything. I really believe that I am becoming perfected.
- Monday we went on a hike with Sarah to the viking memorial again and then the lighthouse thing again. It was fun. I love her so much I do not understand how my heart does not just burst. She told me I am not allowed to tell her I love her anymore though, so I have to keep it all inside. She told me I can only express my love is through little services- i think she is just trying to prepare me for marraige. Sneaky sarah.
- We met a man on the street. I asked him what makes him happy, he looked at me and told me i had already asked him that before. HAHA OOPS. I asked him what he would ask god if he could ask him any question. He looked down, started crying, and just pondered for almost five minutes. It was really cool to encourage him and promise him that whatever was on his mind, he could get an answer to. We gave him our card and told him that when he does get the answer that he can call us and we will be more than happy to talk to him more about Gods relationship with man.
- We taught Edith again. SHe is just so cute. We love her so much! It is really cool to talk to her because she still remembers what the other søsters told her in 1991!! When we got there this week, she gave us two glass dolls. (she said they looked like us even though they dont). It was so sweet of her, it reminded me of the dolls I got from grandma and grandpa when I was little. I have NO IDEA what i am going to do with it, but it is pretty cool because it is dressed in traditional norwegian clothes. We got home and were really scared that there was a gps hidden in them or something. We had to hide the dolls because we did not want them watching us while we slept! TOO SCARY! hahahah we are babies, but it was probably one of the scariest things that has happened.
- I have recently begun looking at my family history.. especially my ancestors in Norway. It has been INCREDIBLE to read about them. I found an autobiography of my great great grandpa's life and his conversion\baptism story, and another very in depth description of the personalitys of both my great great grandma and grandpa. They are so norwegian. It is really cool to see how I am like them. I am so so excited to keep studying about my norwegian heritage and explore everything there is to learn about them. The spirit of Elijah is so real.
- We went the whole last week without a phone because ours was broken. HAHA. We were using my watch as an alarm but one morning it did not go off! We slept in two hours and had to literally RUN from our bed to the bus the catch it for an appointment we had. It was crazy! That whole day was crazy. We cleaned gunvor and knuts house, they sang to us. We got lost on the bus, got picked up by a member, and ate the best dinner ever! It was way funny because at the dinner they found out my grades and eeryone was calling me, "søster doctor superman!" it was funny. They also saw a video of me from tenth grade an everyone loved to talk about how much prettier and skinnier I am now. It was funny. I LOVE THEM.
- We met with Willem again, he is so cool. We skype with him to teach him. He was awesome. We asked him to pray about the book of mormon and he just bawled and said that he could not pray about it because he knew it was true and that he could not even begin to describe what it has done for him. He has given out a ton of mormons boks where he lives and invites people to come to his house on sunday to skype into church with him and to talk about the book of mormon after. wowwow talk about (non) member missionary work!!
- Me and Søster Wheeler both gave talks in church on sunday. It was so cool! I HAVE THE GIFT OF TONGUES. It is amazing how much norwegian I know. I gave a whole fifteen minute talk without looking at my notes more than twice. It was awesome. We also sang I am a child of God on the ukulele for everyone. We did the first verse in norsk, 2nd in finnish (a member sang) and 3rd in english. It was awesome. Everyone (all 20 people) were amazed.
- We had a lesson with an investigator who I LOVE. I relate so much with her and I really think that she is one of the reasons I am here in Haugesund. We need eachother because we understand eachother. We went to her house and she did not answer. I was so sad. But then as we started to leave we saw a head poke up, it was her! It was kind of scary because she was just staring at us. She finally opened the door and everything went good. She told us how much she needed us then and there and sent us 10000 texts after saying thank you. She showed us a video she recorded of herself singing I am a child of God and another video where she was with a man who was talking about how satan is always there watching us...she answered him and said, "Well are you sure it wasnt JEsus?" She was so proud that she pointed out that jesus is also always watching us. It was so cool. We sang I am a Child of God with her with the ukulele. It was so fun. I LOV EHER SO MUCH. I love that song too. It is so important that we all realize that.
A LOT HAPPENED THIS WEEK, I do not have time to write it all though, I have to catch a bus to Bergen. But thanks for all yall do. You are the best!! Sending all of my love and prayers!
