OKAY HALLO!
This week was definitely a weird one haha. I have been soooo up and down with my feelings. Some minutes i am stoked to be here and other moments i feel totally inadequate to be here. But you will here about both of those.
1. on thursday night our "fake" investigator dumped us and that sucked a ton. But it was whatevs. But on saturday night Bro. Leighton's "ereland" (thats his fake name) was so rude to us. We went in to teach him and he literally was so smart-aliky (idk how to spell that). He kept asking us if we even spoke norwegian and just gave us the "real authentic version of how its going to be when people don't accept the gospel." But it sucked. I literally cried so hard that night that my nose started bleeding because i felt so discouraged. luckily i got to talk to Soster Svendsen (in branch presidency) and President Coombs the next day.
I also got a blessing from all of the elders in my district and that was super cool. But in sacrament the speaker said that he felt prompted to go off topic-which was baptism-and talk about something else and it honestly was 100% for me. He said, "you should know that you cannot compare yourself to others. You try and you try and your try and it just doesn't come. You look at everyone else and think they are smarter, more talented, etc. Yes, compare yourself to others and you end up as not very much. You have to learn that you are unique. You are a daughter of God. You have talents and powers and capacities that no other missionary has. You will find out that things that grow slowly live longer. As you remain diligent, Heavenly Father will reveal to us things we never knew about ourselves. He will illuminate the path ahead and help us see our unknown, and perhaps unimagined talents."
Also you all pray for soster wheeler because she deserves 10000x blessings. She is way into oils and stuff and when i was crying she just scratched my back and treated me with all of her fixings and what not but it made me feel a lot better. She also gave me the coolest CTR ring ever so now we are matching. I am obsessed w her. Soster mumford is cool too of course. (lol at the picture)
2. My fidget spinner is so lit here. Everyone asks to use it and it is making me pretty cool. ALSO everyone here always comes up to see what i am wearing each day because i guess i have some sister missionary style. (which is fun for me)
3. EVERYONE KEEP PLAYING INSTRUMENTS BECAUSE I WANT TO KMS THAT I CAN NOT PLAY AN INSTRUMENT THAT WELL HERE. also if you are planning on going on a mission work on your athletic skills so you can break MTC records.
4. Pres. Coombs wife is literally Pioneer Woman's doppleganger. Everytime she talks i almost die laughing and imagine her cooking stuff.
5. The asl missionaries have accepted me as their own. I went up to them a few days ago and "sang" When You Wish Upon a Star in ASL (THANKS RAC) and they went wild. So they call me (sign me) Sister Star. And they always say hi to me which is pretty fun. They are in the picture with us holding the "i Love you sign."
6. TRCs are so fun. We get to like home teach RMs from norway and i am obsessed. not only do i get to practice norwegian in a low-pressure situation, but i get to talk about Norge! WOHOO
7. Even if i never found lacrosse after my hurdling tragedy, it would have been totally worth it from how much i have gained from it.
if i did not have that happen, i would not have anything to share when people talk about trials or relying on god or anything. Like my life is 100% perfect and that is the only thing that has not gone my way...so i am v. grateful for that.
8. i promise i do love the mission, i just want to get to norway! I hosted a sister from finland yesterday and i cannot wait to go meet the norfolk. I feel like i am so ready - even though my language is obviously sub-par. But i am just so stoked to get there. One month from today i will have been there for almost a week! i cannot wait at allllll. "De finnes inger darlig vaer Bare darlig klaer" is our saying to prep us for norge. It means "No such thing as bad weather, just bad clothes."
9. Donny Osmond spoke on sunday and he sang lets get down to business for us and another song he wrote so we were so stoked to hear music! it was cool though. no one really knew who he was but he was not shy to brag about all of his accomplishments hahaha. RIP.
10. i keep thinking about my plants so make sure hannah is watering them every two weeks!!!!! That is only 39 times or something. wooppiieee
But that is all i can really think of. I keep seeing Brian like at least 2 times a day. I think it is funny to say hi because he gets shy.
I will talk to you all next week.
Har det bra!
